  1. Awesome review, dude, thank you! Been thinking of getting the Nova Pro Wireless as an upgrade from my Arctis 5, but this is a lot more budget friendly, with all the functionality I want.

  2. Great review as usual. Also glad you compared them to the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max. I currently own both and plan on returning one pair but stuck on which to return. I play mainly shooters on Xbox. Also have limited playing time so I need a headset that just works. I've had the 7x since Thursday and the Stealth 700 since last Monday. Out of the box with zero changes to settings the Stealth 700 just sounds so much better to me. Much louder and just better sounding. Playing Apex Legends guns sound great where everything just sounds thinner I guess with the 7x. Microphone is also slightly clearer on the Stealth according to friends I usually play with. Where the Nova wins by a large margin is comfort. The clamping force on the Stealth is no joke. I've got a small head and honestly have to adjust the Stealths after an hour or so due to the pressure. They have loosened up a bit in a week but the Nova 7x are perfect right out of the box. Played Saturday for 4-5hrs and almost forgot I was wearing them. So I'm torn between something that sounds much better with a slightly better microphone or another that is incredibly comfortable with a slightly worse overall sound and microphone. Which would you choose if you had to between the two? The price is also not a issue since the Stealth 700 were and still are on sale for $179.99 or the same as the Nova 7x.

  3. Just a note – there are several headsets that do simultaneous bluetooth and wireless connections with no volume drop. I only know this because I pretty much exclusively look for these ones. The two I've personally owned are the Arctis 9x (makes sense that Steelseries would keep this functionality) and the Xbox Wireless Headset which both work great connected to my phone/PC and Xbox simultaneously. Mic also works across both at the same time (have tested this in-game). From my understanding there are other headsets that do this too (e.g. Astro A50s).

  4. Awesome review. With both the nova 7 and nova pro wireless did you notice any white noise hiss? Every wireless headset I've had always has that problem and deters me from getting wireless but these look really nice.

  5. I tried the Nova Pro Wireless and send it back for 2 reasons:
1- the bump of the mic was touching my ears and really incomfortable
2- I really find Sonar has a lot of things to iron in order to be enabled. I really dislike to see my physical AND virtual devices when trying to switch from headset to speakers (which I do quite a lot)

This one could do it but it still requires the use of Sonar, so I may stick with my Arctis 5 for quite more time.

I was looking to know if it could be used while charging, thanks for the information (I really don't understand why Steelseries does not say this on their website)

  6. Great review. Your videos are now essential for me along with Soundguys and Rtings.

You mentioned at the end that in-comparison the Razer Barracuda’s earpads are more shallow. Are the Barracuda Pro’s the same?

I had to return my Barracuda’s because of the earpad depth. I have Nova 7’s coming next week, but would prefer the Barracuda Pro’s because of their tuning. In the end of the day though, comfort is king.

  7. I know they are in different price backets, but which one do you prefer in regards to comfort, sound quality and mic quality, the Corsair HS80 or the Nova 7?
Thanks for some of the best reviews I've seen on the platform! Very technical, with measurable data, and well explained.

  8. Why doesn't Sony allow headset companies to sell headsets that control game chat mix? I loved that feature on my ps4. I like using it on the fly on the headset. Come on Sony. Lighten up.

  9. I used the razor kaira pro previously for a month, constantly had connection issues. It kept having popping sounds or connection issue for no reason. Sold it, and waited for Corsair virtuoso XT to go on discount. Saw nova 7x's ad 2 days ago from Skillup and bought it. After first use with my consoles, this headset will be my daily driver for the next few years. It gets the job done, and I'm happy with a headset like this.
Benefits: simultaneous connection via dongle & Bluetooth, so I can game and chat at the same time. Also it works across all platform (the xbox version, works with ps5 while using the PC mode), this is even better than the virtuoso XT, as that one doesn't work wirelessly with xbox.
The only thing that I was not 100% satisfied is the sound quality. I use airpods daily for music, and this headset is no where near that quality. I agree with this review that it is a bit "shouty", its sound feels very flat, like being pressed between 2 pieces of paper. But at least it doesn't have any noise or anything that's not supposed to be there. So I'll just use it for gaming.

Gaming headset companies tend not to prioritise sound quality so we kinda just have to bear with it for now. Hopefully, in a few years, sound quality will become a thing for gaming headsets. Not sure how good virtuoso XT can sound as I have never tried it, so I'm happy with the convenience of dual connections and cross platform wireless connection for now. 3-4 years later when this headset dies or a better one comes out, I'll upgrade it.

  10. Another great in depth review! SteelSeries has done a great job with the Nova lineup. I use the Nova Pro Wireless with Sonar on PC but with my HyperX Quadcast, and your mic EQ here is fantastic for it. I sound even better to my friends.

Can’t wait for more Sonar content and EQ tuning for Nova Pro Wireless. Lookin forward to future reviews!

  11. Hey big up from France nice video !!!! I have 2 questions : Is this headset good for Warzone ? I Have more than 500 win, I play a lot and Im looking for a new headset to remplace my old broken logitech g433 ??? if not which wireless head set do you recommende me to play Warzone on PC ???? 2nd question : Is this one ( nova ) really better than the Arctis 7, 7+ and 9 from the oldest generation ?? do you really fell the difference in game ??? because the arctis 7 is actually at 120$ in France when the Nova 7 is at 200$. Hope you will see my message and answered it keep going !

  12. I have the 7p model and so far they are great. I'll try out your EQ since the one in using right now feels just OK.

You mentioned in your video that you wish the Nova 7s were louder. I noticed in your steel series gg engine EQ you had the volume limiter enabled. Did you try disabling that? When I disabled that the headset was so loud I ended up re-enabling it.

Also, if you get the 7x or 7p but prefer the black headband, then you can just flip it. Still see a green/blue accent but not as bad as before

  13. Thank you, I really love your reviews! If you made a Patreon or allowed a paid subscription on Youtube I would definitely would support you as unfortunately living in Europe I can't use your links for purchases.
I am thinking of getting a new headset for my Series X and can't decide between the Nova 7x, Nova Pro Wireless, Turtle Beach 700 Gen2Max, Lucidsound LS50x (only cost 180-200 here). I use dolby atmos and I also like to use spacial sound in single player games and movies. Which would you recommend? :O

  14. I do not need simultaneous bluetooth. It's enough for me to pause an audio source and then switch to bluetooth. I saw your video on the Epos H3PRO hybrid and i think for my needs like PS5 and YouTube on the Apple TV, the EPOS sound better. Especially with the EQ that saves the changes on the headset. And i can geht them for 224 USD.

  15. The literal best review I've seen on these headphones so far. I found it kind of odd you actually boosted the microphone's 4KHz+ range. I personally actually basically CUT those frequencies off and it sounded a lot flatter and less piercing but hey it doesn't sound that bad either way. Other than that though everything was phenominal. I also loved how you threw in at the end there the mention of how you can use bluetooth in between matches (if you have adhd) to side track yourself and go on youtube or listen to music, that's something I miss going from wireless headphones to my Nova Pro wired's buuuut hey maybe I should take advantage of the line in port more often then lol. Can't wait to see what your next video will be 😮

  16. Hey man, great review as always, I had an Xbox Wireless Headset for over a year – decided to upgrade to Stealth 700 Gen 2, but it constantly disconnects and shuts off for me, so I've decided to order this headset yesterday after your review, really looking forward to it. I really like the Stealth's sound features compared to the Xbox headset, but the constant drop-offs make it unusable for me, unfortunately. Hope this headset will be a worthy buy for me.
PS. At 29:50 you mention that you wish the headset could get louder, and at 27:00 there's a "Volume Limiter" option turned ON for you. Have you tried turning it off and checking after that?

  17. Thanks Man! Very good review! I thought to get the H6 pro but after your review I’ll go with the nova 7x. Thanks for the work and time that you put in your videos, see you around 🫶🏻😎

  18. Really great video. Your presence is good. Not a lot of hand movement so that isn't distracting at all. Your background looks super clean and pleasing to the eyes. The audio quality of that mic is phenomenal. There is some echo in the recording so not sure if that is fixable or not.

One thing I'd like to learn about headsets is if your ears touch the driver wall or not. I have dumbo ears so that is a huge point in comfort for me. The Corsair HS80 and EPOS H3Pro Hybrid headsets have angled driver walls so my ears never touch the driver wall. Maybe use that fancy ruler and measure the depth of the earcups during the video and let us know the depth so we have that info too. I need an earcup depth of about 1.5 inches for my ears to not touch the driver wall.

    Overall great video.
You spoke clearly and pronounced your words.
    Your presence was inviting.
You spoke fast enough to get the info out and slow enough so that it's easy to listen to what you're saying and process the information.
Again, that background is on point.

I liked and subscribed to see more.

  19. I see that you mentioned the Barracuda again and it's mic.
You should really re-test the mic.
It sounds far better in the ps5 menu test than what it does on your recording.
Soundguys tested them and they also had much better mic quality than you.

  20. I still love my Stealth 700 gen 2, I use em for nearly two years now. If they break, I'll may consider the Nova 7X! Thanks for another banger review Joe💜I hope we can use the sonar tuning on console at some point, so you can save the EQ for sound & mic. It's possible, razer can do it on xbox itself with the kaira pro.
